So, I went out and bought 13 of those solar powered outdoor lights to put in the flower beds up and down my street. I took great care in “planting” them and got great compliments from people in the neighborhood. Tonight, I come back to my house and all but 2 of them are gone. Seriously, someone stole 11 of these lights from not only me, but from the neighborhood. What better use could they have for them than improving the atmosphere on the street? I will go out and buy more, but this really pisses me off. If you read this and you stole the first set, I invite you to come back to steal the next set. I will take pride in putting you in the laser sights of my bb gun. I’m not going to judge you right now, a higher power will do that one day. Hope it was worth it.
Went to the new Soulard International Tap House last night on 9th. I didn’t realize how big that building was inside. They’ve done a good job inside and out with it although it seems like there are some empty spaces inside where they could fit some more tables in. The beer prices are reasonable and I got better service there than I have experienced at their other location. Monday nights from 8p-on they have 1/2 off drafts which seems excellent and Tuesday nights I believe they have $3 local beers. I don’t know that they have done much to reach out to the Island so far, so I worry it’ll turn into a place like McGurk’s that draws way too many outsiders some nights and turns into a place Soulardians don’t want to deal with. Overall, a good experience though.
In 2 days of being off work, I’ve been to two baseball games, hung out with some great people, had a quality breakfast out,went to a grocery store, spent some quality time with a youth group from Texas and cleaned up a church all without having to travel more than 2 miles from my house or get in a car.
